Descriptions for my current state…

So, I’m in a weird state at work right now. I’m not really here at my old job – I can’t start anything real, and I’m trying to close things down, but neither am I at my new job. I was talking with Matt, trying to come up with good names for this condition. Here are a few ones I came up with, but I’m looking for more:

  • Pushed back from the gate
  • Waiting in the green room
  • Looking over the fence

  1. STS: Short Timer Syndrome. I’d ask your new manager for a list of specs :)

  5. perhaps "in limbo", but to put a positive (albeit baseball) spin on it – "on deck" :) things like "player to be named later" have a bit of a negative connotation, although they have the transitory nature going on.

"volatile" doesn’t really work, even with the "changing state" kind of semantic.

"sublimating" has "To divert the energy associated with (an unacceptable impulse or drive) into a personally and socially acceptable activity." which would kinda work outside of that "unacceptable" adjective there :)
