C# Interview

I ran into Chad Meyers from ActiveWin when
I was at TechEd a week ago, and he hit me up for an interview.

Aside: Being in a convention in Dallas is like having a fever. You're either hot and
sweaty, or cold and shivering.

  1. +1 for separate get/set access modifers 🙂

Has there been any discussion of adding return type to method signatures? I’m sure there are significant language design considerations that may make it infeasible. Purely for my edification, I’m just curious about if or if not, why.

Are you asking about being able to overload based on return type? We have talked about it, but it makes code harder to read and understand, and it doesn’t provide a lot of extra utility.

  3. Tim S. says:

I’d rather not see every pet feature making its way into the language. If you add a feature to make a task significantly easier then great, but if it all it does is reduce keystrokes by a few keys then it degrades the essence of a language.
