This article is to inform user that you may experience an issue while using CRM 2016 On Premise with the CRM-NAV connector (version 3.4.304.1) or the NAV 2016 connector.
When trying to configure the CRM adapter users might get the following message, right after selecting the CRM organization and clicking Next:
“Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved”
If you are facing a similar situation, here are the steps in order to avoid this:
Download the CRM 2015 SDK from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44567
Go to the connector installation files and make a copy of the Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.dll. Depending on which connector you are using you will find it here:
NAV 2016 CRM integration:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90\Service\Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\90\RoleTailored Client\Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\Microsoft Dynamics Adapter\Adapters\Microsoft.Dynamics.Integration.Adapters.Crm2011\Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.dll
Extract the SDK file you downloaded, and copy that Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.dll onto the above paths (replace the existing one).
