Dynamics CRM Online – The user has not been assigned any License


When non-admin users attempt to log into CRM Online, the following error can be displayed:

You need a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online license to continue

The error log indicates the following:

Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: The user has not been assigned any LicenseDetail:

                                <OrganizationServiceFault xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/xrm/2011/Contracts">

                                 <ErrorCode>-2147167669</ErrorCode>

                                  <ErrorDetails xmlns:d2p1="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/System.Collections.Generic" />

                                  <Message>The user has not been assigned any License</Message>

Resolution:

The issue is caused by active Processes (Workflow, Dialog, etc.) being owned by a disabled user.  A simple Advanced Find can be executed to search for any Processes in this scenario. To resolve it,  either activate the disabled user, or reassign the Processes to a different, active user.
