NOTICE: February 2009 Security Updates

The Embedded Windows Security Updates , targeted to release by the 4th Tuesday of the month (today) are going to be delayed by a few days. The product team is taking on the componentization development work that enables the security updates to apply to the Embedded development environment, which we expect will ultimately make the process more efficient. This work used to be performed by a great, but quite isolated, resource in Windows Sustained Engineering. As our new product team resources were ramping up this release period (myself included) we ate into some of our buffer. Unfortunately, in going to release yesterday, that reduced buffer was compounded by technical difficulties staging the release. We are working diligently to resolve the release issues to get the update to you as quickly as possible, and expect availability no later than the end of this week.

The new DQI updates for February are KB961260 for IE7 images, and KB960715 for all images with IE (IE6 or 7).  The componentized updates for application to your development environment are included for these February updates and for the DQI updates which shipped in January and out-of-band in December.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
