New HP Thin Clients running Windows Embedded

Back in June this year, I joined other members of the team and participated in the TechEd conference held in Florida. It was great to be able to contribute to one of the biggest events organized by Microsoft since I joined the company last year. I had a chance to talk to IT professionals from all over the world to understand their needs as well as pain points in using our products. Security was one of the main concerns for them. They're looking for integrated solutions that would help solve their security concerns.

Recently, HP announced two new thin clients offered with Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded. The t5540 and t5630 use Via's 1.0GHz Eden CPU, support gigabit Ethernet, plenty of USB ports as well as VGA/DVI video outputs. In particular, the t5630 has the componentized version of Symantec's Endpoint Protection software pre-installed . Together with the Enhanced Write Filter that XP Embedded offers, the t5630 provides extra layers of security and peace of mind for the users. Check them out when you get a chance!
