Nick's Bio

*Updated - 8/18/09*

My experience with computers started when my Uncle showed me his Amiga god knows how long ago. Ever since then – I’ve always rapidly learned, adapted, and progressed in any computer field I’ve been interested in. I’m known as the ‘Hardware Guru’ for the XP Embedded team here at Microsoft. Hardware was my passion (and still is to some degree of course) since my Uncle went to the local Computer City (no longer around) and bought that single speed (1x) CD ROM and Sound Blaster 8-bit kit. (Back in those days the CD ROM connected to the audio card because the IDE interfaces didn’t interpret those types of drives yet) When we got back to his place he asked me to help install this package. Of course – “helping” at the age of 10 really means “Watching” but the important part here is that it was that exposure which planted the seed for everything I do now. *Grin*

Fast forward to present – I’m now a parent of two great kids Joshua (09/2004) and Elizabeth (08/2006). My personal time is consumed by my family, gaming (video, tabletop), software development, and being a Wikipedia reading addict. I try to keep up to date with hardware trends, released hardware, future hardware, and of course games. I enjoy checking out new hardware that comes into the Embedded Windows test lab (which I currently own/manage) so you hardware manufacturers out there, don’t be afraid to send me *cough* free stuff *cough*. *Grin*
