Using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Security Roles to limit access to "Information" forms only

Do you need to restrict your user's access to the new forms in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011?  You might want to do this if you are using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Online or RU 12 and want to ensure that your users are only accessing the classic forms which have the "submit" button enabled on them.  If you do here are some steps that you can follow to use the security roles in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 to accomplish this.

  1. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM, go to "Settings -> Customization -> Customize the System"
  2. Expand "Entities -> Account" and select "Forms"
  3. Select the new "Account" form, and select "Assign Security Roles" in the toolbar
    1. Here you can remove roles that you do not want to have access to the new form. We recommend that only the System Admin and System Customizer roles, or users who will not be submitting records to an ERP have access when considering the
      connector.
