One Week Countdown

The last week has been a hard push to get everything ready for PDC. Yesterday I checked in the final changes I had to the slides and hope to spend quite a lot of time this week not thinking about the talk at all. This is probably the quickest I've had a talk come together and solidify. There were only a few areas that needed major revisions from the first time I put the talk together. There was nevertheless a lot of agonizing and debate over details during the past month.

WCF: Zen of Performance and Scale

Tue 10/28 | 12:45 PM-1:30 PM | 515B

Presenter: Nicholas Allen

I mentioned a few days ago that after the dry run we were thinking about whether to stay as a lunch session or move to a longer breakout session. The PDC staff worked with us to find a great time and room but I ultimately decided to keep the original scheduling we had. The spirit of the talk just feels better as a lunch session even if the length is constrained by that format. There are some topics for which any amount of time is too short. I feel like the shorter time keeps the focus sharp and the pace fast. Without the luxury of a large time buffer I've really had to prioritize what was being said and make sure that only the best content survived.
