A new preview version of the WebPI command line tool (WebPIcmd.exe) has been released: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/1072/web-platform-installer-v4-command-line-webpicmdexe-preview-release/ An interesting new feature if offline mode, allowing the use of WebPI to install on servers that do not have direct access out to the internet. How to trace the activity of an application that calls web services?

One answer: Fiddler is pretty good for sniffing web traffic from any process (not just the browser). Also WCF now has some good tracing abilities. Traces can then be viewed using the Service Trace Viewer tool. There may be other answers, but I HTH. Doug
