Hour of Code: fun and quiet time for the mature child

Ok, it’s the day after Thanksgiving in the US, for some it’s a day to go shopping, for others the children may be getting your on your nerves.  There are number of things you could do:

  1. Feed the children a diet of sugar based foods and cola or even coffee.  This item won’t lead to peace and quiet.
  2. Dress the children warmly and push them out the front door.  This is really a good idea, unless the weather is frightful, then the children need something else to do.
  3. Read a book.  Good idea for you, but energetic children might want to do something else.
  4. Do Hour of Code!  This will lead to about an HOUR of quiet time, if you use the TouchDevelop approach to Hour of Code, the tutorial comes with well done tutorials with interactive video and on-screen guidance.  The videos use close caption in case you really need a way to find silence.  When they complete the tutorial, they get a certificate, suitable for framing, depending on your printer quality.
