Blend 5 and Visual Studio 11: Awesome

If you download and install Blend 5 and Visual Studio 11 you will find these tools totally awesome.  However, make sure to not load them on Windows 7, Vista or XP, they don’t work on those operating systems.

To get the operating system that these products will run on, you will need to go to this website first:

Then download the Visual Studio 11 and Blend for Visual Studio 11, they are in the same download package

Since this is a beta for everything, bear in mind that there may appear to be a focus on specific technology like HTML5, javascript, etc. but the bottom line is that this is a developer preview.  The XAML and silverlight components are not included.  You will need to download and install Expression Blend for Windows Phone, etc. for those tools.  It messy, but there you are.

Give it a try and see what you think.

VS 11 is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. There is NO tool support for developing xaml

What?  VS11 does have XAML development support.  You can use Blend 5 or the Visual Studio 11 IDE.  Did you confuse Silverlight with XAML?
