Review of 101 Windows Phone 7 Apps, volume 1: Developing Apps 1-50

Pretty good, although a little out of date, but the projects for the most part work.  I didn’t work through all of them, but there are quite a few cute and interesting projects like the Talking Parrot (Chapter 35), nicely done.

This is the type of book that gets you started with a little more complex apps, and if you love Silverlight (who doesn’t) it really is a strong tool to learn about Silverlight on the phone.  It doesn’t spend a great deal of time on explanations, but strangely it isn’t too bad for beginners who want to struggle with the cut and paste while learning.

Finally, there does not appear to be any downloadable code, I went to the recommended web site and found nothing.

Other than that, I recommend this book for your library.  Although I would recommend the Kindle, it’s cheaper and you can copy the code directly from Kindle on your PC.

Not sure why I would want a reader, oh, wait a minute, that’s right, if I am at the pool or beach.  Well if you are doing computer reading, then you don’t get this book.  If you are doing coding then get this book.
