WebMatrix: URL Shortener on your site

Everyone loves a URL Shortener, and if you work it right, URL Shortener’s can add traffic to your site.  At least that is my theory, but I haven’t actually put into practice.

As you may have noticed, unless the URL is really long and ugly, I don’t shorten them on my site, that is so that you have the ability to see where it is taking you.

Here is a picture of shortening.  In English, shortening is an artificial type of lard or butter that is used mostly for deep frying of food like chicken, but the word is the same for the artificial lard or butter as the phrase for making the URL shorter.  Which I thought was funny.  But might not translate well.
