Moving to Seattle - what about the rain?

When I moved to Seattle in August of 2004, all my friends from Austin, TX told me i was going to turn into a mushroom. You know, Seattle has a reputation of getting too much rain. In my first week here, I remember a T-Shirt I saw at a Pike Place Market store which read: "Seattle Rain Festival January 1st - December 31st".

I read a post from JobsBlog "What About the Rain" that links to Steven Sinofsky's extensive post on the subject including stats and averages.

Turns out last week was pretty cold in Austin (they are back to 57 today while we are still in the 30s), so I grabbed a screen shot of the weather page for both cities and sent it to some of my Austinite friends
