Five Years later: Welcome to the Developing for Dynamics GP blog

David Meego - Click for blog homepageFive years ago today, I decided that I could help the community better by writing about my experiences as a developer, consultant, administrator and support engineer with Microsoft Dynamics GP in a single location.

Previously, I would respond to questions in a number of Microsoft forums and independent forums. By using the blog, I could create a library of information, that would be available to all and easily searchable.

We have come a long way from that original post: Welcome to the Developing for Dynamics GP blog.

Thank you to all my readers, your support has been inspirational to me.

A special thank you must go to a few people who have had a big influence on the blog:

  • Leslie Vail - Who was there are the beginning, twisting my arm to start blogging.
  • Mariano Gomez - Who has become a great friend and collaborator after we started working on our blogs together.
  • Robert Cavill - Who has known me for my entire Great Plains related career and is one of the best bug testers/finders and proof readers out there.

PS: While we are reminiscing, I just updated one of the most viewed blog articles: GP Logos through the years.

  1. Wow, only 5 years? It seems longer.

And I mean that in a nice way. I've been working with GP for 10 years and it seems like I've been reading your blog for all that time, but I assume I must have been reading your postings on the newsgroups and such for the first five years.

Congrats and I hope you keep going. Your contributions to the community are invaluable.

I second Ian. Articles and ideas shared by you (and those to come in future), are absolutely invaluable. As days pass by, we never slowed down reading the concepts. It's just growing.

Congratulations for 5 terrific years. Thank you for sharing your expertise with all of us.

  3. Robert Cavill says:

Congratulations David on five years blogging!

The collection of information and ideas amassed in this blog during that time means that this blog still remains my first place to check whether any customisation is likely to be possible!

Great going David. Also 5 years of you getting a dozen new fans every week worldwide.

Keep up the good work mate! I hope to see another 5 years of madness on this site.

  6. Leslie Vail says:

I am honored to be mentioned in your blog. You are the best of the best, and a dear friend.

I hope you will not be away for long, I don't think I can stand another 3-year David withdrawal.

Thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge with us, you really make a difference!
