Date Effective Tax Feature for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 is now available and can be downloaded from

Date Effective Tax Rates allows you to set up different tax percentages for various date ranges for a tax detail ID as specified by the tax authority. You can use these tax percentages and recalculate taxes on saved transactions that fall within the date range that you specify. You also can update the tax percentages for tax detail IDs in the Tax Detail Maintenance window (Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Setup >> Company >> Tax Details), and the Date Effective Rates window (Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Setup >> Company >> Tax Details >> Additional >> Date Effective Tax) at a time. The Date Effective Tax Rates feature is applicable on transactions originating from the Receivables Management, Sales Order Processing, Payables Management and Purchase Order Processing modules in Microsoft Dynamics GP.
 
Important: Ensure that you have applied Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Service Pack 1 before you install the Date Effective Tax Rates feature. This will ensure that your database version of Microsoft Dynamics GP is 11.00.1521.
 
Information for Users in the United Kingdom

Beginning January 04, 2011, the tax authority of the United Kingdom is changing the tax percentage on the standard rate of VAT from 17.5% to 20%. You can use the Date Effective Tax Rates feature to modify the tax percentages of the VAT tax detail IDs and recalculate taxes on existing transactions.
