Dynamics GP 2009 Year End Update Warning

Today's post is a public service announcement.  We will return to our regularly scheduled blog next week.

If using Microsoft Extender product DO NOT use the 2009 U.S. Year End Update for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 that is found at https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/downloads/taxupdates/usgpye10.htm?printpage=false . The specific issue is that the update will delete your Extender definitions and data with the only recourse to do a database restore.

Instead you must install the 2009 Canadian Payroll Year End Update/2010 Tax Update that is found at https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/downloads/servicepacks/mdgp10_patchreleases.htm?printpage=false .

The 2009 Canadian Payroll Year End Update/2010 Tax Update includes Service Pack 4 and the 2009 U.S. Payroll Year End Update.

Seriously though - while this message is posted on the update download page and Partnersource/Customersource in a hot topic, the system team is still getting calls on this.  So I thought I'd take the opportunity to push this warning out to our faithful readers.
