History of Great Plains and Microsoft Dynamics GP

David Meego - Click for blog homepageAs a fantastic follow-up to my previous posts about the history of Great Plains, Victoria Yudin and Mohammad Daoud brought to my notice a very detailed Timeline of Dynamics GP (and Doug Burgum) created by the team at DynamicsWorld UK.

The timeline shows how Doug and the Burgum family are an integral part of the Great Plains / Microsoft Business Solutions / Microsoft Dynamics GP story.  I have had the pleasure of meeting Doug on a few occasions and he always impressed me how he knew everyone by their names and also knew something personal about them.  This was not just limited to his employees but to many members of the partner organisations as well.  Doug is also known for his great keynote speeches at conferences and for his Q & A sessions where he answered the questions he felt like answering and not necessarily the questions he was asked.

Please check out the timeline using the following link:

For a bit of nostalgia, here is a photo of me with Doug in Fargo when I last caught up with him in 2005.

Note: the shirt with the Homer's Head logo.

Please post comments with your anecdotes of the Doug Burgum years.
