Who would live in Fargo in Winter

David MeegoDon't take this the wrong way. I love the people of Fargo (all year round), but I only love Fargo itself .... during Summer.

Andy from the Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP blog has informed us that the twin cities of Fargo/Moorhead are facing flooding from the Red River again.

Most of the businesses in the region are running on skeleton staff as the community prepares to face the rising waters.  Please bear with Microsoft Dynamics GP teams based in Fargo as they will be under staffed for the next week or so.

Please see Andy's post Flooding in Fargo… for more information and links to information on the last big flood. Let's hope for the best.

So, if you can handle the below freezing temperatures of a North Dakota winter, you have to be ready for possible flooding when the snow/ice melts.

I am glad I live in Perth, Western Australia where it never snows.

David

[Edit] It looks as though the peak levels for the Red River might not be as high as feared. Have a look at the news article: Fargo welcomes lower flood forecast upriver.

[Edit Again] For up to date information on what is happening in the Fargo/Moorhead region have a look at the InForum news website.  Have a look at this time lapse video of the sandbagging efforts at the Fargodome. (Note: you might need to create a free sign in to access the links).
