So here we are again, another month and another month full of great quotes and stories from you all. Thanks for blogging about OneNote and we are listening!
Love and Affection
- "I'm addicted to oneNote"
- "It is at this point that I learn about one of the greatest bits of software Microsoft has ever created. OneNote. And I own it! Who knew?"
- "I’m currently addicted to Microsoft Office OneNote 2007. It literally brings out my OC-ness! J "
- "I don’t know how I’d get through the day without my OneNote. Easily the 2nd most used program besides Outlook. Everyone I’ve pitched it to has loved it as well. Outstanding program."
- "Not only do I love OneNote 2007, but its added strength is (yipes!) its integration with other Microsoft products, such as Outlook. I'm obviously a lost case!"
- "It's very intuitive and I love it."
- "OneNote is one of the new additions to Office 2007..And, believe it or not, I actually love it. It's a great program. I've been using it a lot and will definitely need to either find a replacement program for the Mac or run OneNote via a virtual machine."
- "Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 has quickly become an application I can't live without! It's become the central repository of nearly all digital information presented to me during my day to day work and play and it does an INCREDIBLE job"
- "OneNote 2007 is the note making software from Microsoft, which is one of the jewel in Microsoft Office Suite. "
- "OneNote is an especially cool application"
- "He mentioned that the tablet came with OneNote, which being a Content Developer, I live in. Besides Outlook, OneNote is probably one of the applications I use most during my day."
- "Not only do I love OneNote 2007, but its added strength is (yipes!) its integration with other Microsoft products, such as Outlook. I'm obviously a lost case!"
- Cool thread on "Hey Genius" called "OneNote Rocks"
- "I’m sitting here in amazement after playing around with the new software for the last 30 or so minutes. After OneNote, this has to be one of the best desktop apps in recent times." - from an internal MS employee commenting on the new Zune software"
Don't Dig MS, But Dig OneNote
- I've met the enemy, and it's not so bad - I have a background as a UNIX sysadmin, so as stereotypes go I should really hate Microsoft, its products, and basically everything it stands for. Well, it's obviously the end of the world, as I've found myself crazy about a Microsoft product, OneNote 2007.
- "A Microsoft product that has legions of die-hard fans (I’m one of them) and yet is so hard to describe... This and PowerPoint2007 are the reasons I stay with Microsoft rather than migrate to some Linux distro."
- "I am in list making bliss I tell you! And it's all in one nice neat paperless spot on my desktop. My life is now 50 times easier. Thank you Microsoft! Wow, I never thought I'd say those words ;o)"
- "It was awesome to see how OneNote works in Office 2007 application folder. I've never fond any app in Office family like this before. Super cool !!!"
Personas and Scenarios
- "I was able to transfer all my HM and Cookbook stuff into OneNote, and actually get my recipes in too (thanks to a lovely web feature), in about an hour! Something which in that past could take weeks due to all the tweaking to make the system perfect."
- "Finally, there is a good solution for managing all those recipes torn out of magazines and newspapers or printed out from the Web. That’s because without knowing it, Microsoft has created the home cook’s dream software. The software is called OneNote"
- "I am sitting at the kitchen table using Microsoft OneNote for some normal note taking tasks with some other projects when I stumbled upon a "Blog This" option in the right click menu of OneNote. This got me to thinking how much easier it will be to post blogs."
- "All my information about all my transactions are at my finger tips. Lender contact, escrow, title, cooperating agent, etc... I have it all right in front of me and I have to thank OneNote for most of it. I have yet to see any other agent carry one of these things around and I just think … they just haven’t seen the light yet!"
- OneNote is a great new office program, not like InfoPath. It doesn't take long to learn, for someone who knows how to use other programs. My favourite feature is SideNotes, which you can access by clicking on the icon in the notification ara (Far right) of the task bar."
- "I am in radio, and I am working on a syndicated radio show that is going to be an oldies show. I have charts from the 70-90s, and I want to scan them and put them in OneNote for safe keeping."
- "But for students in classes involving charts, graphs or math problems more often than it involves just words, the tablet could be a godsend. Users can ...file in the handy OneNote program, standard on this year's Carolina Computing Initiative computers."
- "OneNote 2007 also offers incredible integration with Outlook 2007 as well as other programs included it the Office 2007 Application Stack that simplifies daily tasks and elevates some of the pain previously involved in trying to get Office applications to play nicely together."
- "The software platform I am using on the TabletPC is Microsoft OneNote 2007. One Note is touted as the TabletPC “killer app”. One note certainly lends itself to being used by students as a note-taking and research tool. "
- "It reminded me about my own job, which involves a lot of interviews. OneNote would help expedite my task, as I can quickly type in some keywords right then and there on OneNote as my resource answers my questions."
- "I really like the idea of using Outlook and Onenote togethe as: I already have them and quite like the new 2007 versions. They talk to each other quite well. It's dead easy to flag a line in OneNote as an Outlook task."
Room for Improvement
- Take a look at some text using the font Impact. Kerning, leading, tracking; it's offensive to every aspect of typography.
- "First off my biggest initial complaint (don’t you hate it when people start off in a negative manner?) was that it works great with Outlook, unfortunately we don’t use Outlook at work so that is a bit useless for me."
- Instead I have Lotus Notes and finding a way to integrate OneNote and Lotus Notes seems to be an exercise in futility but I digress."
