Windows XP Media Center 2005 is launched

There are a lot of new features in this release, not least of which is Windows Movie Maker 2.1 with DVD Burning. I should point out that the web page does indicate that the DVD Burning features may vary manufacturer so that’s something to check first.

I know the first question will probably be “How to I get Media Center 2005?” Well it’s only available on special Media Center PC’s. However there any many places where these are now available.

I’ve had the good fortune to be running it on a PC at home connected to our regular television for several months now and it’s pretty much been rock solid. We have our photos, music and home videos on a server in the garage and we can browse, watch and listen to everything using the simple remote control. We’d be at a loss without it.
