Peter Ulm, who now looks after Virtual Earth etc. in Australia, walked me through some new features in live maps a couple of weeks back. Both impressed by the technology and Peter’s passion I decided I would (finally) blog about it.
It surprised me that Birds eye has come to maps so quickly.

Hit the button explore collections and you get tags you can view and upload with pictures:
If you switch to 3d view you can record a video from getting from point 1 to point 2. You can use a Birds Eye View in combination with the 3d view:
Lastly, though I coudln’t find any in Australia, Map Cruncher can show model information for a building. Imagine being able to navigate a mall and see the shop layout…
