I’m very excited about the new release of Vista. Having bought a lovely Maxtor Mini 100Gb drive and backed up my work and personal machines I’m ready to take the plunge on all fronts to RC1.
Unfortunately last night I discovered that Bootcamp assistant (1.1) beta from Apple would appear to rely on the EFI partition existing. This is no longer the case on my Media Center as the original boot of Vista Beta 2 really didn’t like the EFI partition.
See here for the details
So, it looks like my RC1 is going to be on a complete reinstall of the machine. Joy. It’s a must to do because I still have outstanding items as question marks in the device manager. It’s very possible that Bootcamp is obscuring the information (I can be positive that a performance counter is not a device)
