A Moment with Nic! Voltron, Robots and Katsu Curry!

My fellow Aussie, evangelist and Voltron fan, Nic Fillingham, has posted up a vid of the recent International Robot Olympiad on 10!

But reading his post reminded me of a great conversation he, me, Joel P and Chucky had over a nice bowl of Katsu Curry, about old school toys, and our combined love of them.

So I got digging, and it turns out, Toynami are still making Voltron! Now granted it doesn't look like the Voltron (circa 1986) I had as a kid, but it got me thinking, does that really matter?

I mean, it wasn't really the build or style that made my Voltron doll (it was actually five separate pieces that came together to become Voltron) cool, but re-enacting certain scenes from the cartoon on my lounge room couch (I was thinking of doing a demonstration and posting the video to soapbox, but don't have an account still...).

So now I'm thinking, maybe I do buy one! Yes, you may laugh as you picture me up early before my wife Yil wakes up for work, moving cushions around our living room, employing our small dog Nelson (Mon has a bad history of not playing nicely with toys) to take on the role of "monster", then playing out scenes from Voltron...but hey, if it gives me that edge at work, then who cares!?

Oh, and check out VMan's moves!
