I was at the UK Developer Launch of Windows Vista / Office 2007

It's Monday and I'm back in the office, here at Microsoft in Reading. I spend Saturday here as well. Not just by myself, but with a load of my colleagues in the Developer and Platform team and around 100 developers who were keen to try out some coding on Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system (to give its proper name).

We had set up a sample program for the developers who came in for the day to build. In the morning it was WPF/WCF "messenger" style app, and in the afternoon a Office/Windows Live app. The fun bit was they both communicated with a web service out in the Internet, which went down well.

the good news is that even if you weren't there, you can still join in the fun and try the apps out for yourself at New Dawn for Developing. Follow the links for the briefing docs and Mike Ormond's notes.

If you want to see any of the sessions from the Friday, including the keynote, they are also on that page. Enjoy!
