TechEd Europe 2004
Even though summer seems a long way away, preparation is well underway for TechEd Europe, which takes place 29th June – 2nd July 2004 in Amsterdam. You can find all the info you need at https://www.microsoft.com/europe/teched/
There are a couple of things worth noting about this years event. There is a separate “Mobile PC and Devices” track this year, which incorporates the Microsoft Mobile DevCon (MDC), so if you are interested in mobile development, this is the place to be.
There is, as always, an excellent line up of guest speakers this year – some colleagues that I have known for years, and who are great speakers, will be presenting, including David Chappell, Rafal Lukawiecki and Clemens Vasters.
There will be over 400 technical sessions and hands-on labs at this year’s event, and for the 9th year running, I will be presenting. I really love TechEd – it’s always a great place to meet people, discuss technical topics, and sit in on great presentations, and one of the sessions I am doing that I am wanted to highlight is this one:
“21 Rules of thumb – how Microsoft develops its software”
This session builds on the “21 rules of thumb for writing great software” that Jim McCarthy developed whilst at Microsoft, and adds more detail about MSF and how we arrange our teams and processes.
It’s a topic dear to my heart, so I hope to give you an insight into development here at Microsoft, as well as some anecdotes from past products.
