Scott Guthrie speaking in Belgium on February 1st

Last week Scott Guthrie announced the release to the web of ASP.NET AJAX v1.0. And a couple of days later he posted a follow-up post with a number of useful resources and comments. Scott was also interviewed by Rory for Channel9. Check out this not too technical but informative video where Scott talks about Mix07, web technologies, IIS, etc.

Wally McClure' and Paul Glavich' blogs and their ASP.NET Podcast site have with some good podcasts and resources on this v1.0 release of ASP.NET AJAX.

And finally there's some excellent news for the Belgian developer community: Scott Guthrie will be speaking in Belgium on February 1st.

Scott will give two talks:

  • From 16:30 till 18:00: First Look at Visual Studio and ASP.NET “Orcas”
This session will cover some of the great new features that will be coming soon with Visual Studio and ASP.NET "Orcas".  Learn how web development with .NET will continue to improve and evolve, and talk about some of the upcoming features and how best to use them.
  • From 18:30 till 20:00: ASP.NET 2.0 and ASP.NET AJAX Tips and Tricks
This session will provide some great tips and tricks on how to improve your web development today with ASP.NET 2.0, ASP.NET AJAX, and Visual Studio 2005.  It will cover VS project management recommendations, ASP.NET 2.0 UI techniques, ASP.NET AJAX suggestions, performance improvements, and deployment best practices.

This event, co-organized by the Visual Studio User Group and MSDN Belux, will take place in Utopolis Mechelen (Spuibeekstraat 5 - 2800 Mechelen). For those of you not yet registered for this free community event, don't hesitate too long anymore to register because we already have 250+ people that will attend!

While I'm very happy to have Scott finally come to Belgium, it's really unfortunate that I won't be able to attend because I'll be in London for Designertopia. More information on the event can be found on the VISUG web site
