On Your Marks...

Well here goes with my first blog entry.  Let’s start with a bit about me... I've been with Microsoft for just over 5 years working as a consultant in our Services Organisation.  Whilst ostensibly working in the developer practice, my background in manufacturing equipment regularly drew me towards embedded engagements and ultimately to where you find me today, as the Embedded Developer Evangelist  for the UK.

I’ve had the good fortune to work on many varied projects deploying Windows Embedded solutions on everything from exercise cycles through to ATMs and Point Of Sale.  For the past 2 years I have been working closely with a large UK retailer defining solution architectures for their store systems and deploying embedded platforms to multiple Point of Service and mobile devices within the store.

I’m not quite certain what direction this weblog is going to take or whether anyone will find it interesting to read.  But hopefully, among the musings and observations on my experiences with Windows Embedded, someone will find a useful nugget of information (or two) - Let me know.

In the meantime, if you want the low-down on Windows Mobile and Embedded  I strongly recommend checking out two of my colleagues, Mike Hall and Marcus Perryman, blogs at https://blogs.msdn.com/mikehall and https://blogs.msdn.com/marcpe.
