Clarification of NZ MSDN Pricing

If you’ve been looking at the prices on https://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/howtobuy/- (set the currency to NZ$) you may have been balking at the prices – and rightly so – they are based on an approximation and not local prices. For real prices, make sure you contact a local reseller. For clarity sake I’ve put the prices below.

  • VSTS (uber SKU with everything in it) $22,009.42, renewal $7,043.56
  • VS Team Edition (any one) $11,004.71, renewal $4,629.33
  • Team Foundation Server (server price - no renewal as its not a sub) $5,624.57
  • Team Foundation CAL $985.96

If you buy any Visual Studio Team Edition or Visual Studio Team Suite you get a TFS Cal with it - so you only need to purchase CALs for downlevel VS versions/editions or non developers (such as Project Managers, etc).

If you are on select, open license, EA, etc you will are eligible for pricing that is in line with your agreement – meaning you should get it cheaper than these prices.

*UPDATE* If you buy Visual Studio Team Edition or Team Suite, you'll also get a five user version of Team Foundation Server with Five CALs (total) - so you can connect other users to it for no additional charge.
