Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 Expiration Date


In case you’re wondering, all versions of Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 can be used until May 1, 2006.

    So far so good, except I forgot to uninstall an older version of SQL 2005 Express and now it won’t uninstall…and the April CTP of SQL Server 2005 won’t install. 🙁

    Beta 2 is soooo much faster than Beta 1. Very impressive!

    The version on the MSDN sub site is the standard edition; any news on when the uplevel versions are going to be made available?

    Also, the "timebomb" on beta2 is a pretty wide margin – hope May 1 2006 is no indication of RTM?!

  5. To Adam’s question, the MSDN site should also have Team System available. I know that I’ve seen other blogs that picked up on this and have downloaded those bits. The only thing that I could think of is if your subscription level was for a level lower then "Universal" where maybe it wouldn’t have access to Team System.

    WRT the "timebomb" being so far out, May 1 2006 *is* pretty far out, but it has nothing to do with the actual product RTM date.
