Now Available - Visual Studio 2012 Update 1

This is certainly an exciting time at Microsoft. Just a few months again, we launched Visual Studio and .NET 4.5 to the world. At the same time, we also launched Windows 8 to the world. And since then, we’ve be releasing new versions of every current version of software we make (SharePoint, Office, Project, Visio, and more).

Since the release of Visual Studio 2012 and TFS 2012, the DevDivision has not stopped working on the product. They have been releasing community preview updates on a monthly basis. Feedback has been coming in from the customers who have applied them and the team has been making corrections, enhancements, and updates for the next monthly release. Now that we’ve reach the third month, the team has kept their release cadence and made Visual Studio 2012 Update 1 (Visual Studio 2012.1) available for download.

For an overview of the main updates made in the update, please check out Soma’s Blog. There’s so much stuff in this update, it’s hard to believe this is just a quarterly release. You’d swear it was like a Service Pack or something.

For a comprehensive outline of all the new functionality, you should check out the Visual Studio ALM + TFS Blog.

As if it weren’t busy enough learning all there is to learn about VS 2012 and TFS 2012, developing Windows 8 store apps, learning all the integration points between Project Server+TFS and System Center+TFS, we have a lot of new things learn. Certainly fun days ahead!
