New Blog System

So this is a new system they’ve moved us over and i’m trying to get used to the differences between it and the old one.  Right now it appears that changing themes isn’t exactly working, so you’ll have to bear with me the current look.  As soon as I can i’m going to try to customize this all to look a lot nicer (like making separate posts actually look separated).  And for some reason code pastes are losing their formatting, which kinda sucks as well.

Otherwise it all seems pretty nice and they’ve added a few features that i’m very happy about (like previewing posts before committing them to the home page).  Let me know what you think of the whole system and i’ll get your feedback to those responsible for this change and the general management of MS community features like this.

Chris: I’ve sent this info back to the blog hosters. Hopefully they can help.

ARRGH! I’m getting 400 duplicate blog entries on RSS Bandit, with slightly different time stamps than the old ones. No choice but to delete my entire Microsoft blog archive. :-(

I had the same problem with SharpReader, with a quick solution.. http://blogs.msdn.com/jledgard/archive/2005/04/02/404957.aspx#405043

Perhaps you could adapt that to work with RssBandit, I am not sure :(

  4. Another nice little side effect of this "new system" is that everyone who subscribes to your blog has now had the past 15 or so posts pushed to them, even if they have them already.

So, with all of the subscriptions I have for MS folks, I have about 500 or so posts I have to delete.

    Nice!
