New Adult swim lineup:

Wolf’s Rain: Enthralling
Witch Hunter Robin: Decent
Tom goes to the Mayor: Sick and twisted.  Me likey so far.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Has potential, but slightly too silly.  Definitely need to see where this is going.

and finally:
Super Milk Chan: Makes me want to claw out my eyeballs
Perfect hair: Please make the pain stop

Fortunately the new Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021 and ATHF have all been excellent, so adult swim is still teh win in my book.

  1. Wolf’s Rain: Boring. Great art, horrible plot.

Witch Hunter Robin: Great art, mediocre plot, enough to keep me watching if I have nothing else to do

Tom goes to the Mayor: Not my cup of tea, but should appeal to the "Sealab 2021" and "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" contingent.

Fullmetal Alchemist: I like it very much, don’t mind the silliness factor. Like the art, and the story isn’t so horrible. Also like that they stick to a psuedo-science (it’s great for continuity)

Super Milk Chan: Love the art, hate the show.

    Perfect Hair: What is this?

    You forgot two:

Futurama: Used to hate it, now I laugh my ass off at it.

Family Guy: Funniest animated show ever.

Just give Fullmetal Alchemist a while… it’s silly like you said, but it’s really a great story. It will get more serious, especially during the ending 10 episodes or so, but there are still plenty of silly moments throughout the first 3/4 of the series. Overall it’s great though.

Don’t expect too much from Wolf’s Rain, otherwise you will be severely disappointed. It’s pretty and has great music, but that’s about it. OTOH, FMA is a bit silly in the beginning, but as the plot progresses, it becomes quite serious. Especially near the end of season 1…

Oh, don’t forget about Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. I hear it’s a decent dub, and right now I feel it is the best anime series I’ve seen in the last few years.

As far as ATHF, I’m a huge fan, but I’ve found the recent new shows to be a little bit of a let-down…

But then again, I’d say it would be almost impossible to keep imporving on stuff like ‘The Meat Zone’, ‘Broodwich’, and ‘the Cloning’.

An easy thing to do to make me a bit happier would be to bring back Dr. Wierd.

Anyway, the Volume III DVD is out tomorrow – there goes another couple of sawbucks that’ll make my wife roll her eyes. I just can’t figure out people who don’t get it.
