Just had one of those supremely weird waking moments where you rmind has difficulty getting a hold on reality. I woke up looking at my alarm clock and noticed that it said EO:E. In my somnolent state I know that something was wrong, but I couldn't quite place my finger on it. (Think "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and Arthur waking to "yellow" to kind of get an idea of how this felt). I finally realized that EO:E wasn't actually a valid time and my mind suddenly flipped it around to 3:03. "Ahhhhh" I said to myself, "much better". A few seconds later I suddenly because aware of the fact of what I'd done and asked "WTF! Why on earth would I even need to flip the numbers around". I reached out to get a hold of the clock to find out why it was upside down and i immediately doused myself. As it turns out, a well placed glass full of water was reflecting the LCD output to me. The clock was actually facing away (bright red lights not being conducive to sleep sometimes) hitting the glass refracting/reflecting and sending me invalid inputs.

It's not the strangest thing I've woken up to (those are much more interesting stories for another time), but it certainly blew my mind on this morning.

    Here’s hoping you get dry and back to sleep quickly ;{)}

    Uncanny… this is a Jonathan Creek plot almost to the letter. Suggest you watch out for vengeful assassins posing as policewomen assigned to protect you *grin*.

    That’s just awesome.

    I’m loving that (and not in a McDonald’s sort of way).

  4. A night of non-stop LSD can do that to ya.

    Reminds me of the time I woke up in the middle of the night convinced the ceiling fan was someone flailing their arms at me. I jumped up to defend myself and promptly fell on my wife, waterbeds not being the most stable fighting platform, who woke up and wanted to know just WTF was going on.
