Microsoft Dynamics CRM Tip: Finding Answers to Your Questions

I have been meaning to write up this tip for awhile now and finally decided to just keep it short and sweet. There are many ways to learn about using, extending and installing Microsoft Dynamics CRM. But sometimes you just want an answer and you want it quick. Maybe you have already scanned Community Top 10 Microsoft Dynamics CRM sites (aka CRM 101). Here is one of the fastest ways to find an answer. Use the Microsoft Dynamics Forums to get your answers.

The Microsoft Dynamics Forums are at http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/dynamics/. We have a number of people from inside the company and CRM MVPs invested in getting you answers and getting them fast. Our answer rate is one of the highest in the company and we are working to make it even better. Here are the key facts to help you get the most from the Forums:

  • Create a Windows Live ID so that your questions (and answers) can be tracked. There are so many benefits to this step that I won’t enumerate them here.
  • Ask in the Correct Forum. For example if the question is specifically about CRM deployment, ask in the CRM Deployment not the CRM Dev forum.
  • Title the question clearly. A topic titled “HELP” does let the people who answer questions know if they are the right person to answer the question.
  • Give us enough information to help you. For example if you are using a legacy program like CRM 2.0 or such, we would need to know that before we try to answer the question.

Here’s hoping that 2010 brings you a year of success and achievements in all your endeavors.

Cheers,

JaAG

  4. FlowMonitor takes a holistic approach to customer satisfaction research.  We believe that any customer research effort needs to incorporate both surveys and live customer feedback to provide the most value.  FlowMonitor’s customer satisfaction research solutions feature online surveys to quickly quantify key issues & challenges followed by live “voice of the customer” feedback to provide relevant context and meaning to the survey data.
