Product Release: Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

We are pleased to announce the availability of Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. Mobile Express gives organizations a Microsoft supported mobile solution with the power of choice: choices in the devices and in the networks they use when going mobile.

This month, Bill Band of Forrester Consulting reported that 73% of companies with mobile CRM deployments recognized that mobile CRM improved employee productivity.  But too many organizations have not yet taken their customer facing personnel mobile. Sometimes this is due to perceived cost or complexity or lack of device standardization. Because we want all of our customers to gain the advantages that a mobile CRM solution provides, Mobile Express is available with no additional fees, is deeply integrated with the security and customization tools in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 and runs on virtually any device that can display HTML 4.0.  With Mobile Express, users can experience increased productivity while on the road and system administrators can enjoy a fast deployment with no need to update and deploy device software.

Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is available as a free download and supports the product’s  full customization and multi tenant capabilities. Those capabilities allow organizations to deploy a CRM solution for one set of workers and, using the same software licenses and hardware,  develop instantly mobilized xRM solutions for a wide variety of other business needs using point and click tools.

Enough chatter though. Follow the link above, read the fine print and download Mobile Express. Look for details on the Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM roadmap in the next Statement of Direction coming next week.

Mobile Express for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 as seen from the HTC Touch Pro running Internet Explorer. You didn’t think I was going to show screen shots of it running on an iPhone did you?

Customization tools are embedded within the application and use the same user roles you already have to provide role based experiences on the device.

I’ll see you on the road (wth Mobile Express, of course),

  2. Riccardo Zulian says:

It doesn’t install on a not EN MSCRM …

  3. Marcus says:

Can’t get this to install on CRM 4.0 server. Win2003, SQL. All standard stuff. Any ideas?

  4. nio says:

any ideas regarding how to unpublish the entities in mobil express customization after you remove / remove all the entities before ?

  5. Michael says:

I cannot publish any entity in any organization after installation. In fact, I can’t publish the Mobile Express config itself.

Is there an uninstall procedure for Mobile Express?

  6. rampal says:

    @ nio

After you remove/remove all entities from the Selected entities list, highlight the entities you removed in the Available Entities list and click on Publish this will commit the changes and the entities will no longer show up in Mobile Express.

  7. Anne Stanton says:

Thanks for posting. When searching on details on Mobile Express the information is hard to find. Glad this blog is here!

    Cheers Anne

  8. Scott Jung - Ascentium says:

I am curious if the functionality to make Mobile Express Read Only will exist in a future release?

  9. Scott Jung says:

Is there going to be a feature to make Mobile Express read only as there was in the 3.0 version?

  10. Keith says:

Any support available for Mobile Express?

Works great to look up info, but adding things like cases…doesn’t work.

  11. Keith says:

Thanks for your time the other day!

I’m now just waiting on approval to install in our production system.

    Works great!

Two items on my wish list:

    1. Lookups – using * or partial name, then hitting save to get the drop down can take quite a bit more time on a phone.

    2. Ability to add child records from Parents.  (i.e.  Adding a contact from the account vs. creating the contact then relating it to the account.)

  12. Mobile Express looks great, but I am finding it very frustrating when it comes to using it.  Its great to look up things, such as Accounts, Contacts etc…but if I want to use it on the go (hey thats why we all have these mobile devices!) I would like to write up my appointment details straight away!!

    Please help

    Dave

  13. Mary Fernandez says:

Is there any SDK for the mobile version,

or we should refer all’SDK CRM?

    Thx

    Mary

  14. SusieN says:

We are using Mobile Express on Blackberry but the list views are being cut up so can only see the top half of any name.  Are there any config instructions for working with Blackberrys, please?

  15. Mark Lloyd says:

Just installed Rollup 6. Published some entities on the Mobile Express control panel and it fails when publishing the Lead entity (which happens to be customised).

Is this a limitation of Mobile Express. No customisations? Surely not……….

  16. Mark Lloyd says:

Further to my previous post. It turns out I cant publish the Lead entity at all. Either via Customisations or Mobile Express Control Panel.

Also I noticed the Mobile Express site in Connect has been removed overnight. WTF??
