Dundas Controls in SQL Server Katmai

I heard about this a while back but had to keep my mouth shut about it. It now looks like the Cat is officially out the Bag. I’ve been a huge fan of Dundas for some time and constantly bothering our Reporting PM about the Dundas deal for some time now. Dundas are the clear leader in charts and other data visualizations.

It’s awesome news and makes SQL Server 2008 a really great offering for business customers. Collecting, storing and analyzing your business data is a ‘science’ – but creating great looking reports is an art. So many business intelligence practitioners can do the science but not the art. Sometimes is a shame to see such data ‘go to waste’ – as the tired eyes of executives glaze over at the mountains of pivot tables. The Dundas offering will go a long way to helping the scientists be a little more like artists.

I agree.  The Dundas chart wizard is particlarly helpful: we will be moving over to SQL Server 2008 as soon as it is released, partly because of this addition.
