Getting Started with Azure - Backing Up VMs

In my last post, I provided you with some simple steps on how to "Get Started" with the Azure Backup service by focusing on the Backup Vault and Policies that are associated with Vaults and VMs. Starting from there, I would like to go to the next and final step, which is the actual Backing Up of VMs or Servers.

In the below video, I will walk you through how to Enable an Azure VM for Backup Protection using the Vault and Policies that we created in the previous post. I will also talk about how you can enable your On-Premises VMs as well as how you can configure them to only backup certain files and folders rather than doing a full VM snapshot.

Now that we have walked through how to protect a specific VM, let me provide you with scripts for how to do the same thing using PowerShell and Azure Resource Manager. I have also provided you with additional documentation and articles that are related to Azure Backup.
