In Flight Wireless Internet

I am currently airborne on SQ286 to Singapore from Auckland, and just read that Singapore Air are offering wireless internet connectivity on selected routes (mainly to Europe)!  This is great!  I would have been able to post this in real time from the air … but apparently there is not the coverage on this route to be able to offer it :(  I also heard that SAS are offering this also … and at a reasonable rate of $10 USD for the flight.  Not bad really.

However, this does make me think… who actually wants to be contactable while in the air?  Many are saying that their flying time is a forced disconnection from email, IM etc…  that they really enjoy.
