Hello world!

Hello! My name is Chris Smith and I work for the VB.NET Deployment Team for Visual Studio as a “Software Design Engineer in Test”. What that all translates to is that I work to make sure the Visual Studio Generic Bootstrapper is nothing short of amazing.

To tell you more about myself, I grew up in the exotic wilds of Boise, Idaho. After too many years of potatoes day in and day out I went to college in Texas, at Trinity University. While I was studying towards a degree in Computer Science and minor in Mathematics I interned at a small company called Microsoft. After graduating I hopped on a plane, got an email address at microsoft.com and have been a part of the Visual Studio family ever since.

I will be using this blog to generate some buzz about the Whidbey Generic Bootstrapper - which is going to eliminate most, if not all, of the headache associated with redisting the .NET Frameworks. So stay tuned!
