More than you care to know about me…

I don’t usually go in for these things, but since it was Dave O’Hara that tagged me, I have to respond:

What I was doing ten years ago

I was working as a Senior Microsoft Development Consultant at Step Consulting in Greensboro, NC.  I had been working at USAA Insurance in San Antonio, and was looking for something new and challenging.  I found the ad for Step in the back of Visual Basic Programmer’s Journal while sitting in my favorite chair in the house, and decided that NC was the place to be.  Later that year, Step was acquired by Spectrum Technology Group, which eventually was renamed into the parent company CIBER.

  1. DEvHammer says:

    OK, that’s just too weird.

While I never worked for USAA, I’m a longtime customer of theirs. I did, however, also work for Spectrum Technology Group, shortly before and during the CIBER acquisition. I wasn’t aware of the Step acquisition, but perhaps that’s because I was in the DC area, not in NC.

So I guess you’re yet another former co-worker from Spectrum/CIBER that works for Microsoft (Geoff Snowman is another). Small world, though I wouldn’t want to paint it.

Chris: I hope you and the family are well in Big D.  We miss you here in SA!

  3. > Bouncing leg syndrome

    > Finger tapping (usually accompanies bouncing leg syndrome)

Chris, that’s symptomatic of being a drummer. Have anything you’d like to admit? 😉
