Shutting down for the holidays and some thoughts heading into 2008

I'm heading off for the holidays after today, and will return to blogging in the new year.  Marc Monplaisir and I launched this blog back in August with the goal of better connecting with our chemical customers and partners on what we are up to in the industry, and to share some of the stories of how our chemical customers and partners are using our technology to solve business problems. My vision is to build this blog into the central location that people go to find out where Microsoft is involved in the industry, and provide an easy way for you to connect with our team (either through blog comments or directly through the email alias).

I am happy with how the blog is catching on.  I've had a variety of people contact us through the email alias (customers, partners, analysts, etc...) and I enjoy the new relationships I have made through the blog.  Please continue to provide suggestions on topics through email or directly on the blog, and I will continue to improve the content and make it more relevant as time goes on.

I want to thank ChemWeek for linking to our blog from their blog.  The more perspectives and ideas that are shared online in the chemical industry, the better.  Plus, it will have the side effect of being more accessible to the next wave of professionals that are considering a career in the chemical industry.

Happy holidays to you and your family, and I will see you in the new year.
