This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects (.deployproj)

Been playing with the PartsUnlimited  DevOps sample and ran into an issue where “some” of my machines would fail to to open the sample with the error:

This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects

unfortunately clicking on the “More information” doesn’t even list .deployproj as an option (supported or not)!

Luckily one of my coworkers, David Tesar,  knew right away the issue was the fact I hadn’t installed the Azure 2.6  SDK for Visual Studio 2015.

(Yes I realize I linked out to the Web Platform Installer –as it is the easiest way to get the right Azure SDK)

For benefit of others, I ran into the same uninformative error but in my case I needed to install Visual Studio SDK (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=40758).
