Gold Coast Fishing report (From hot to cold)

The Last two weeks have gone from feast to famine as the larger pelagics are just starting to move in to the area.

Last week we caught a nice Wahoo, a huge snapper, a giant Barred cod (20KG) and lots and lots of Taylor with two of the boats near by getting strikes from little black Marlin on the 40 meter line; versus today after 4 hours of dragging marlin and Wahoo lures netted me Zilch.

At this point i am hoping the year won’t be repeat of last year where the bait by-passed the Gold Coast reefs and subsequently so did the larger pelagics.

To put this in perspective, last year at one of the big Gold Coast Marlin tournaments the first day only 12 fish were caught; two years ago at the same time and some location some of the boats were catching 25 marlin -each per day!

Here’s to hoping for the bait to come in!
