Title: Understanding Index Usage and Indexing Best Practices in SQL Server 2005
Abstract: While many indexing best practices continue from SQL Server 2000, there are some new features of which you should be aware. SQL Server 2005 offers more options to cover queries alleviating some SQL Server 2000 restrictions. In this session, we review a good strategy for table clustering, look at supporting non-clustered indexes and focus on non-clustered covering as well as Indexed Views. Finally, in addition to index creation we briefly cover the new online operations and how they will impact your table design. If you want optimal table structures, better data availability as well as a strategy for indexing for performance, this is the session to attend!
