Title: A Developers Lap around Visual Studio 2005

Join Charles Sterling as he takes a look at 3 areas of enhancements in Visual Studio 2005: Windows Forms, Visual Studio Tools for Office and a brief Look at ASP.NET 2.0. This all demo scenario based presentation will start with an existing Internet Real Estate application and extend it for integration with Office documents, Resurface the website with templates and personalization and lastly highlight some of the Windows Forms features by writing a new data driven Windows Form application.



About Charles Sterling

Charles Sterling aka “Chuck” has over 11 years of Developer tools experience at Microsoft. He came to Microsoft from being a marine biologist working for the United States National Marine Fisheries doing marine mammal research on the Bering Sea. An MCSE and MCSD, he started out at Microsoft in developer support focusing on FOXPRO, Visual Basic and the platform SDK, then worked as an engineer for the database teams on ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), and specializing in Microsoft SQL Server. From there Charles took a position with the Solutions Integration Escalation Team, which focused on assisting Microsoft customers with the integration of disparate software technologies into viable enterprise solutions, on this team Charles focused on Microsoft Message Queue (MSMQ) doing numerous talks at conferences, writing papers and teaching classes on the topic. Charles’ role in Redmond for the last 2 years before coming to Australia was the product manager for the .NET Framework. Chuck is currently a Developer Evangelist for Microsoft Australia living on the Gold Coast.
