Thanks for the Scrum support!

Thanks for the supportive comments about my last post.  I am aware of the scrumdevelopment mailing list and wade through it periodically, although I find it kind of like drinking from a fire hose!  At the Certified ScrumMaster class I heard about ScrumWiki and saw a demo of ScrumWorks.  By all accounts both are worthy tools, although I'm using Excel to start with (so far it's fine).

Things seem to be running smoothly so far, although we're only at day 3 now (our sprint started on 10/4).  I have to say that I like Scrum's very logical way of tracking all known requirements in the product backlog and no-BS way to tracking work in the sprint.

I'm hearing rumors that there's a lot of interest in this effort since this is one of the first Scrum sprints going on in our division.  I just set up the sprint review meeting with a whole bunch of muckety-mucks invited so if we deliver on our sprint goal we should get some good PR both for our actual progress and for demonstrating the use of Scrum within a huge organization.  (To be fair, this effort is somewhat disconnected from the mainline product effort, but it's still quite relevant.)

Hopefully things will stay on track -- but hey, even if they don't, we'll "inspect and adapt", I guess...

Signing off...

Chris
