Visual Studio 2012 – Ready to Launch!

For some, Visual Studio is as sexy as the Surface or as revolutionary as Windows 8, and the best IDE, and it just got even better! There are so many new features in Visual Studio 2012 that I myself have only begun to scratch the surface. What with the new application lifecycle management  capabilities, Windows 8 development, Windows Azure integration, enhanced testing tools, ASP.NET 4.5, insanely improved HTML, CSS & JavaScript editor support, the list goes on and on and one and… well you get the idea.

So where should you start? Jason Zander has a great list of the top 12 Visual Studio 2012 features here (you see what he did there?), after that I would suggest of course getting a copy and trying it out for yourself. Hit up the Visual Studio downloads page or if you are an MSDN subscriber you can download it from your MSDN Subscriber Downloads. Finally, you should attend the Virtual Launch Event on September 12, where you’ll get to learn all about the new capabilities in VS 2012.

Personally I’m most excited by the improved web development support with the numerous HTML, JavaScript & CSS editor improvements, what’s your favourite new feature? Leave a comment below and let us know!
