Innovation Drives “What’s Next”

If you’ve seen any Microsoft commercial recently, you would have seen that our tagline is now “Be What’s Next.” What I love about this tagline is that it is open for each and every developer, company, partner, etc. to define what that means to them. Further, I love the fact that developers can use the various technologies that comprise the Microsoft platform, enabled by Visual Studio (especially with Visual Studio 11), to achieve innovation with connected devices, Cloud services, natural user interfaces, and more.

Here’s an example of such innovation – a multi-touch enabled solution, backed by cloud services, and running on connected devices. This solution, created by the forward thinkers at Montreal-based RunAtServer, facilitates better collaboration between engineers and architects.

Canadian Innovation on the Global Stage

Product aside, this video shows the what’s possible. More importantly, it demonstrates Canada’s contributions to global innovation. That’s why I’m proud to say that the video has made it to the finals of the 2012 Global Microsoft Next competition. Now, let’s all get together, as Canadian developers and innovators, and vote for Canadian innovation as the Microsoft Next People’s Choice winner of 2012.
